WELCOME TO SCOTCH COLLEGE
The Scotch College Mitcham Campus is a place for growth.
The Junior School years of a child’s life are a voyage of discovery, during which they develop a love of learning and deep sense of curiosity and creativity. Through our unique Signature Learning Experiences, Scotch provides a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment to instil a life-long love of learning that will form the ideal foundations for future learning.

Welcome to Junior School
The Mitcham Campus learning experience centres on combining explicit teaching for the mastery of foundational learning skills, with inquiry skills to promote curious, innovative, discerning and critical thinkers.
We are a welcoming and inclusive community, big enough to have broad facilities but small enough for staff to know every student, parent and extended family member. Our programs and approaches are designed to cater for the varying interests and learning styles of all students.
We design contemporary, signature learning experiences at each stage of the Primary Years to ensure each child’s learning is relevant and purposeful. Start here for an overview of our curriculum, approach and programs.
Sports & Activities
From our earliest recorded Cricket match in 1921, to the wealth of seasonal sporting fixtures on offer, sport has always been an essential part of Scotch College life.
Scotch boasts a comprehensive sporting program contributing to the development of athletes of all abilities.
Each student is guided and supported to make their experience in sport rewarding and fulfilling.
Agriculture Studies & Future Farm Skills Centre
There is a growing perception in our community that in the next 100 years, food security will become one of humanity’s greatest aspirations. Scotch has embraced that challenge and is committed to enhancing our Ag. Sciences program into something that is relevant, contemporary and impactful.
Our Agriculture Studies program and the Future Farm Skills Centre (the centrepiece of our Agricultural Precinct) facilitates a focus on sustainability from Year 5 as part of the first stage of our innovative Live Well Program.
Outdoor Education
Outdoor Education is an integral component of the Scotch College curriculum, offering students the opportunity to enjoy Australia’s unique outdoor life, while nurturing respect for the environment and enhancing key life skills.
Camps are part of the curriculum from Year 2 in the Junior School, where students embark on their first overnight camp experience.
A sense of responsibility for the environment is fundamental to our outdoor education curriculum. Scotch focuses on places that have an impact to enable students to intrinsically understand the need for environmental protection and a sustainable future.
