Celebrating our Culture of Giving
Scotch College was founded on the benefaction and generosity of Presbyterian leaders and families who purchased Torrens Park House to establish a school as a memorial to the “Sons of Scotland.” Their foresight and generosity created a place that has since seen over thirteen thousand young people pass through its gates, empowered to transform their world and its future.
For over 100 years, the ongoing generosity of our community has enabled us to build on these strong foundations – providing outstanding educational opportunities through need-based scholarships and the development of exceptional teaching and learning facilities.
Philanthropy at Scotch is about more than just giving; it’s about ensuring that every student has access to a world-class education, regardless of their circumstances. School fees and government grants alone do not provide for the ongoing advancement of the College, and it is through the generosity of our community that we continue to achieve our broader educational aspirations and vision.
In 2024, Giving Day was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. In just 24 hours, our community rallied in support of scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, raised an impressive $503,350 to establish a new Community Scholarship – a tremendous achievement that will have a lasting impact on the lives of current and future students. Every donation, no matter the size, was doubled by generous matching donors, making an even greater difference.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to Giving Day 2024. Your generosity strengthens the legacy of Scotch and ensures that future generations can thrive.
Together, we are shaping the future of Scotch.
