Volunteering & Parent Support Groups

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Scotch community, without whom many of our events, sports and parent support groups would be unable to function.

It goes without question that we highly value your time and appreciate all volunteers do for our community. In sporting parent support groups, a volunteer’s main role is to organise functions and provide assistance with team duties as required.

If you would like to volunteer at Scotch, please email volunteers@scotch.sa.edu.au and we’d be thrilled to discuss the various options available to community members. Currently we have support groups for many of the College’s sports and activities. You may also wish to volunteer in the Scotch Canteen.

Volunteer Compliance

To comply with legislation, we do require anyone volunteering in the College to have 2 essential certificates:

Working with Children Check (WWCC): The WWCC screening application can be found online at https://screening.sa.gov.au. To help you complete the registration page, select the following;

Role Description: Volunteer working in a school
Screening required: Working with Children Check
Applicant type: Volunteer.

Once received, please forward your WWCC to Jenny Stratfold at volunteers@scotch.sa.edu.au.

Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC): This new training and certification replaces the previous RAN course and is mandatory for all education staff and volunteers.The RRHAN-EC Fundamentals course can be taken online at education.sa.gov.au.

If you would like any assistance with your compliance checks, please contact Jenny Stratfold on 8274 4333 or email volunteers@scotch.sa.edu.au.
