Merrylees Scholarship

The Merrylees Scholarship, established in 2019, was made possible through the generous support of Andrea (’77) and Andrew Merrylees. This scholarship provides the gift of education to a student who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Scotch College.

Andrea was one of the first girls to receive a scholarship at Scotch, giving her firsthand insight into the transformative power of scholarships. A Scotch education fosters a global perspective, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for diverse viewpoints—qualities the Merrylees hope their scholarship will help a student to develop.

The first recipient of the Merrylees Scholarship, Toby Du, began his Scotch journey in 2019. Graduating in 2024 as a member of the Scotch 90s Club, Toby has accepted an offer to study Dentistry at the University of Adelaide – a testament to the impact of the Merrylees’ generosity.

Inspired by Toby’s journey, the Merrylees have now committed to establishing a second needs-based scholarship, offering another student the same life-changing opportunity.
